IS 3217

When the Power Goes, Your People Need a Way Out.

Emergency lighting is the system your building must have but never needs to use — until the moment it’s critical. If it isn’t tested, certified, and positioned correctly, it will fail the one time it matters. Irish law requires it. Your people deserve it to work.

Non-Compliant Emergency Lighting Is More Common Than You Think

Emergency lighting fails compliance checks for three main reasons
Inadequate coverage escape routes, stairwells, or direction changes not illuminated · Batteries that no longer hold full rated charge never tested to find out · No written test records no evidence of compliance for your insurer or fire authority

What We Design and Install

Emergency Escape Lighting

Illuminates every part of every escape route to IS 3217 lux levels. Covers corridors, stairwells, changes of direction, and final exits. Battery backup for the full required duration — minimum one hour.

Open Area Anti-Panic Lighting

Prevents panic in large open spaces by maintaining minimum illumination throughout. Essential for open-plan offices, retail floors, and assembly areas.

High-Risk Task Area Lighting

For areas where machinery, medical procedures, or hazardous materials require safe shutdown before evacuation. Enhanced lux levels to IS 3217 high-risk requirements.

Emergency Exit Signs

LED illuminated emergency exit and directional signs. Correctly positioned at every decision point. Compliant pictogram standards. Battery maintained for full emergency duration.
